Lt. Drake leads the Massacre at Bin Loc in 1971
Bin Loc was a small village in Quảng Trị Province in North Central Vietnam in the early 1970s during the Vietnam War.
Its people seemed to be simple rice farmers and were not numerous consisting of not much more than two dozen people.
Bin Loc was the home of Tran and his family.

Bin Loc was caught in the midst of the Vietnam War and came to the attention of the American army and Lt. Travis Drake's Clean-up crew and Nick Knight who was working for the International Red Cross at the time. Nick visited Bin Loc and give aid to its people who were suffering from an apparent sickness that was later discovered to partially the doing of LaCroix and other vampires. He also attempted to find out the meaning and the purpose of a mysterious symbol on a tree just outside the village, but they did not know who put it there. After leaving the village, Nick encountered Lt. Drake and his Clean-up crew who suspected that a contingent of Viet Cong was dug in up there and intimated that he and his crew intended to search that village.
Later, on 24 November 1971, the Clean-up crew attacked Bin Loc and violently detains and interrogates its people. During the interrogation, one of the soldiers sees a man running out of a house and he assumes that it is a VC and starts firing. The others follow and a massacre begins. Eighteen people were killed and the village was destroyed. The bodies of the dead were not buried for some time and lay strung out on the ground.
