There are two flashbacks in this episode.
1970s, San Francisco. Just as Janette decides to move to Toronto, she and Nick are interrogated by a local detective, Sam Wolchek, about a murder in the building where she is living.
Late 60s, America. Vachon's crew took readily to the hippy lifestyle and the easy pickings it offered.
