This article details the body count for the first season of Forever Knight. As it details who is alive and who is dead and who is newly undead (whether in current time or in flashbacks), by its very nature it details some serious spoilers for the season.

| Only one vampire is created during this episode, and that only in flashbacks: Nick Knight. The remaining body counts are for humans only. From the news accounts and conversation with Dr. Natalie Lambert, we know that there have been prior murders; but, in the actual course of the episode, we only see three victims on screen: the museum guard, whose murder is believed to be the latest in the series Nick is investigating; Nick's first victim, as he learns to become a vampire in the flashback scenes; and Topper, whose body is discovered in the barrel in the alley by the homeless men playing basketball. | |||

| No vampires are made or killed in this episode, though we do see Nick just prior to his being brought across by LaCroix. Three humans die in this episode, though it is mentioned that three additional murders took place in similar circumstances over the previous year. The first human to die in this episode is corporate accountant Ben Crawford, killed by David Burkhart, a "straight-arrow cop." Both were lovers of Ann Foley, the exotic dancer who, while reminiscing about the kill Burkhart has just committed, stabs him in the back with a knife she has hidden in her jacket. At the end of the episode, the manager of Jilly's strip club is about to shoot Nick, who is pursuing Ann. Schanke shoots him; but the manager's fate remains in question. Anne eventually kills herself by jumping off the top of a building ledge to avoid being taken into custody by Nick. | |||

| No vampires were made or killed during this episode, but four humans died. George, the limousine driver for the Hedges family, is killed by injection while waiting for Gennifer Hedges and her daughter, Janice, to finish a shopping spree. Both women are kidnapped and Mrs. Hedges is killed. In flashbacks we see Brother Matthew, a farm owner who sheltered Nick, die by hanging himself because he is unable to reconcile his occasional sightings of Nick as a vampire (which he takes to be a demon) with Nick's civilized behavior. In the final confrontation, we see Denise Fort, the psychic, mortally shot by Conrad Hedges who had arranged for the killing of his wife and daughter all along. Mr. Hedges is shoved by Nick and falls to the ground unconscious, bleeding from the ears. His status remains uncertain; but there is no later mention in the episode of Nick's being under investigatation for killing a suspect. | |||

Two humans are murdered in this episode: Pete Farber, who is shot at the beginning of the episode by Murray Kozak; and Sarah Fergus, the violin player killed by Janette in the flashback. Another human, Betty Gilroy, is mentioned as having been killed by Murray Kozak, but that murder is never seen on screen. | |||

Three humans died at the beginning of the episode in a Chinese mafia attack on a taxi in an alley: killed by gunfire were Raymond Chow, the taxi driver transporting Nancy Lee Young, and Nancy's uncle and brother. In flashback, we see LaCroix take the life of a fourth human, Mai Chong, an acupuncturist in San Francisco. Additional injuries were sustained by mafia members when Nick defended Nancy and Dr. Chong; but they all presumably survived, if a little worse for the wear, or there would have been a larger investigation of Nick's actions at the scene. | |||
